Salmon, trout and grayling fishing
on the beautiful River Teviot
If you’re looking to get away from it all, why not enjoy a spot of fishing here at Chesters? We’ve got 1 mile of double bank fishing on the River Teviot, the largest tributary of the River Tweed, and it’s an ideal place to rid yourself of the stresses of everyday life.
With an annual catch of around 20 salmon in the late season, we make no pretence at being the fanciest bit of river in the world, but not everybody wants ermine-lined fishing huts and stroppy old ghillies – so we have neither!
Instead, if you’re a beginner looking to quietly find your feet, or a more seasoned professional wanting sport without the rigmarole, Chesters fits the bill perfectly. And if you do want a little extra tuition, we have several local experts who would be more than happy to help.
In the summer, we also offer excellent trout fishing, and come the colder winter months, the Teviot springs back into life as one of the UK’s best grayling rivers.
